GIC Housing Q2 net up 147% to Rs 23 cr, stock up 7%

GIC Housing Finance 's net profit rose by 147.3 percent to Rs 23 crore in the quarter ended September 2012 from Rs 9.3 crore in a year ago period.

Net interest income shot up by 181.8% to Rs 31 crore in the second quarter of current financial year 2012-13 from Rs 11 crore in a corresponding quarter of previous fiscal.

At 14:13 hours IST, the share, which touched a 52-week high of Rs 104.50, surged 7 percent to Rs 102.90 amid large volumes.
