I start the week by buying Mahindra Satyam . This I buy with a target of Rs 132.50 and a stop loss at Rs 128. I am trying to buy a good stock from a sector that is doing well in a volatile market. We have seen the entire IT sector holding its own during past one-one and half months and I think that will continue to do so. Maybe when things turn better we could actually see a good out performance coming from some of the midcap names and I think Mahindra Satyam is in that list. I buy this stock with a day target of Rs 132.50
Buy LIC Housing with a target of Rs 245 and a stop loss at Rs 239. We have a positive outcome in the Budget in the form of the tax benefit being given to first time house purchases to a value of Rs 25 lakhs. This augurs well for stocks like LIC Housing Finance. This stock has a good loan book and strong net interest margins (NIMs) and good growth going ahead, This was one of the stocks that corrected quite a bit in the midcap carnage that we saw in the last month. So, on the way up this could be a stock that will do well. I would buy it for a longer-term target of Rs 292
Sell Shree Renuka Sugar with a target of Rs 26 and a stop loss at Rs 27. We did see a short lived rally in the sugar space largely on the back of some decontrol coming in. We really had no news from that front and in any case whatever news that comes will have very limited rub off on the stocks. One should wait a couple of quarters before we really start entering into the sugar sector in any case so this is a stock that I sell with a target of Rs 26.
Sell HDIL with a target of Rs 65.50 and a stop loss at Rs 67.25. I think ahead of the RBI event on March 19 we are likely to see some amount of nervousness continue in the banking space as well as the real estate as well as any of the interest rate sensitive for that matter. So, sell on HDIL with a target of Rs 65.50
