South India Paper Mills workers on indefinite strike

South India Paper Mills Ltd has informed BSE that the Worker's Union has commenced an indefinite strike w.e.f. March 11, 2013 at the Company's Paper Mill at Chikkayanachatra, P.O. Nanjangud.The wage settlement between the Management and Worker's Union has come to an end and as such Management was negotiating with the Union for fresh settlement based on a charter of demand submitted by the Union. The matter was also referred to the Labour Department Authorities. Meanwhile, the Union has taken an unilateral decision to go on strike to press for their demands and has commenced strike from March 11, 2013.Source : BSE
