SAIL Q3 PAT down 18% at Rs 579 cr; margin rises

The company's total income was down 3.2 percent at Rs 11,107 crore versus Rs 11,473 crore.

The steel producing company,  Steel Authority of India (SAIL) has reported 17.9 percent decline in its third quarter net profit at Rs 579.1 crore against Rs 705.2 crore, in the same quarter last fiscal.

The company's total income was down 3.2 percent at Rs 11,107 crore versus Rs 11,473 crore.

However, its operating profit was up 4.3 percent at Rs 1,208 crore versus Rs 1,158 crore. The operating margin was up at 10.9 percent versus 10.1 percent.

Its other income rose 77.57 percent at Rs 345.2 crore versus Rs 194.4 crore.

The company said that other income included Rs 200 crore profit on sale of investment.
